Photography for Beginners

Hi semua..

Saya baru je nak get myself involved in photography, probably not for a living (xtau lagi, tp it wud be great tho!), but simply cuz I love colours, and I love taking meaningful pictures, pictures dat show 'emotions'...

Cuma, saye xpernah nak ambik tahu pasal how to get started with this new-found hobby, seeing how expensive it is... But now, I think I'm ready and that I am able to dedicate myself to it. 8)

So basically I am seeking proper guidance la... First off, saya rasa, I need to get myself a complete camera kit - sbb I believe dat practice makes perfect. Tapi, I tak tau "mcmana"... :shock:

Should I start off with a new camera? Or get a second-hand nyerr.. If so, apa kit yg saya (as a beginner) patut ada? Lenses, etc.... Saya dah tanya a number of ppl, tp seems like I still can't make up my mind...

Buat pengetahuan semua, I cuma ada my humble compact camera, Sony DSC-S40.... Ni yang buat saya nervous (sgt2) nak attend Bengkel kat Bukit Tinggi tu, tapi, a beginner's gotta start somewhere.. ye tak..??

Welcome Noni...here's hoping that everyone of us will obtain some invaluable knowledge from this community.

As for the camera, a lot depends on your budget. If you have it, then why not go for a brand new one. If this is your first time handling a camera, I always suggest getting comfortable with it first before investing a huge sum of money. Look at what you are targetting, what kind of photography you are more inclined towards, that will somewhat make it easier for you to decide.

Whatever it is, different people will give you different view on things. But in the end, it is you who have to call the shots and make the decision. And what a better place to get more feedback and knowledge than over here.

Noni...kami yg dah berjanggut dan berserban haji pun blajar, inikan orang baru. Tapi ialah, kena ade minat. dan saya cadangkan buat sedikit research tentang nahu-nahu fotography nih. Banyak site utk belajar, cuma kena pilih-pilih mengikut kemampuan kamera dan kebolehan kita.
