Nikon sure dah ada plan utk lawan canon especially 5d model ni. Harap nikon leh kuarkan full frame FF CMOS sensor. Kalau tak nikon pasti akan ketinggalan...sebabnya canon akan buat semua model FF sensor kecuali entry level je.

ini ada sedikit pandangan dari saya yg tak seberapa... sprt yg kita semua maklum canon merupakan pengeluar camera DSLR yang paling terkedepan jika nak dibndngkan dengan Nikon, olympus dsb... perkara nih memang tak dinafikan.. walaupun canon Gah dalam pengeluarn model camera DSLR yg baru.. tapi dari segi quality "Lens" blm lagi setanding dengan Nikon, Olympus Zuiko, Sigma dan lain2 lagi lah....

Kenapa mesti full frame sensor? Sila baca dibawah ini..

Full frame is the future because there is more surface area on the sensor to use. If you stick with a 1.5x crop, you have a small surface area that can only be packed with so many pixels, and can only resolve a set level of detail. Between the 1D, the 1Ds, and the 10D, the 10D has the smallest pixel well size. The smaller the pixels, the less light they can gather, and generally this leads to more noise. The 10D is able to produce low noise images thanks to the aggressive AA filter and internal noise processing.... but this stuff can only compensate to a certain degree. In the end, physics win. The 1Ds has slightly bigger pixels, and the 1D has the biggest pixels. This is why the 1D does VERY well at high ISO settings. Each pixel can gather more light than the 1Ds or the 10D.

So how does the 1Ds achieve it's high resolution? Added surface area. Even though the individual pixels are larger than the 10D, it can fit more of them on the sensor because it takes advantage of the full 35mm frame.

Now let's switch over to Nikon. They're sticking with the 1.5x for the time being, which has one apparent problem. They are confined to the surface area of the 1.5x crop. If they want to add more resolution, they need to make the CCD surface more dense with pixels, which will result in smaller pixels, and more noise.

Move the clock ahead 5 years. By this time, Canon has already rolled out the first full frame consumer camera. Just by adding the extra surface area to a 10D, it would likely resolve over 12MP of data. If Nikon is going to compete with this resolution, they will need to make the photo cells half as big, which will result in more noise. So essentially, Canon will be able to produce high resolution cameras that Nikon will struggle to complete with.

This is the same problem that Olympus has with their new E1. They're sticking with a cropped 35mm frame. A few years from now, the 4/3 system users will be stuck with either low resolution cameas, or noisy high resolution cameras.

Maybe Nikon has just decided that 6MP is all consumers need..... but what will these consumers decide when they could buy a Canon 12MP body for the same price as a Nikon 6MP (or Noisy 12MP) body. That is the vote that counts, and the consumers crave pixels. That's not going to change. Just compare some photos from a consumer camera like the Olympus E10/E20 (Very noisy, digital looking detail, horrible high ISO settings) to some 10D photos..... that's likely the difference you see between a full frame 12MP camera and a 12MP 1.5x camera.
