Kuching Waterfront: the home of Perahu Penambang

~ Penambang : A small boat used by the Kuching locals to commute from the riverbanks of their village to the city centre's Waterfront or other villages.

~ A Penambang arrving at the Pengkalan Astana, Kuching, Sarawak. On the opposite bank is the Kuching Waterfront Bazaar.

~ Built circa 1879, this old fort still stands proud on the opposite side of the Waterfront in Kuching. Now converted to a museum that holds interesting collections of relics & artefacts.

~ A penambang boat crossing the river on a late evening at the Waterfront.

~ A Penambang floating towards the Astana in the late evening, as seen from the Waterfronts of Sg Sarawak, Kuching.

~Originally built in 1870 by Charles Brooke as a wedding to his wife Margeret, the Astana is now the official residence of the Head of State.

Saya suka yang ni... the empty spaces keeps the mystery alive with tremendous DOF. Nice series by the way torque.
Photography is like making belacan. It takes a hell of a lot of shrimp to make a small amount of belacan just like it takes a hell of a lot of photos to get a good one.
